Ratios, Perimeter & Exciting Plans Ahead πβ¨
Itβs been another busy and productive fortnight on Maths Magician, with more new modules completed and some exciting developments beginning to take shape behind the scenes.
New Learning Modules
Since the last blog, the Ratios and Fractions module has now been fully completed. This topic helps students connect ratios with fractions and percentages, building a deeper understanding of proportional reasoning β an important GCSE skill.
There has also been strong progress on the new Ratio Problem Solving module, which focuses on applying ratio skills in more challenging contexts and multi-step problems.
In addition, although not yet released, I have nearly completed a new section on Understanding Perimeter. This module focuses on developing confidence with perimeter calculations across a range of shapes and problem-solving situations.
Together, these topics continue strengthening the connections between number, geometry, and algebra across the GCSE curriculum.
π₯ Looking Ahead β Maths Magician YouTube Channel
I am also making good progress towards launching a Maths Magician YouTube channel.
Although nothing has been released publicly yet, the plan is to gradually add supporting videos that will also be linked directly into the Maths Magician website. This will allow students to:
Watch explanations alongside lessons
Revisit difficult topics independently
Access additional revision support outside lesson time
This is something Iβm really looking forward to developing further over the coming months.
π¦ Level-Up Spotlight
The Level-Up system continues to show outstanding engagement and progress:
One learner has now reached Level 12, with over 7,000 XP β a remarkable achievement showing long-term dedication and consistency.
Another student is progressing strongly through Level 11, while several others are now well established in Levels 8 and 9.
Strong movement continues throughout the middle levels, with many students steadily building confidence and climbing towards their next milestone.
Across the site, itβs fantastic to see students continuing to engage regularly with both lessons and independent learning.
Looking Ahead
With Ratio Problem Solving continuing to grow, perimeter work nearly ready for release, and the YouTube project moving closer to launch, Maths Magician continues to evolve into a richer and more supportive learning platform.
The combination of:
Structured learning modules
Independent activities
Weekly reporting
Level-Up progression
And upcoming video support
is helping students make excellent long-term progress.
Keep up the brilliant work β thereβs lots more still to come! π§β¨
