Fractions, Percentages & Looking Ahead to AI Reporting
Another productive couple of weeks on Maths Magician, with new content being added to Unit 3 and some exciting developments happening behind the scenes.
New Learning Modules
The latest completed module is Fractions and Percentages of an Amount. This is a key GCSE topic and helps students build confidence in moving between fractions, percentages, and real-life problem solving. Understanding these relationships is an important step towards tackling more advanced proportional reasoning later in the course.
Work has also begun on the Standard Form module in Unit 3. A couple of sections are already available, introducing the basic ideas behind writing very large and very small numbers in a compact form. More sections will be added over the coming weeks as the module continues to grow.
Behind the Scenes: AI Reporting
Behind the scenes, I’ve been developing an automated reporting system using AI. The aim is to streamline how student progress reports are produced while still providing meaningful feedback.
All data sent to the AI system is fully anonymised, ensuring student privacy is protected at every stage. Once completed, the system will automatically analyse progress data and generate structured reports. I’m hoping to have this fully operational after Easter, which should make reporting faster while still keeping it informative and personalised.
🎯 Level-Up Bonus Week
Students should also keep an eye on their XP totals next week.
From Monday for one week, any quiz completed will earn an extra 10 Level-Up points. This is a great opportunity to push towards the next level by revisiting quizzes or completing ones you haven’t attempted yet.
🔦 Level-Up Spotlight
Progress across Maths Magician continues to be impressive.
Two learners have now reached Level 9, with XP totals exceeding 3,000 points – an outstanding milestone that reflects consistent dedication.
Several students are moving strongly through Levels 6 and 7, with progress bars already close to their next level.
A large group of learners are steadily advancing through Levels 4 and 5, showing great persistence with quizzes and activities.
Over 30 students are currently active on the system, contributing to a lively and motivating learning environment.
Every XP point represents effort, practice, and growing confidence in mathematics – excellent work from everyone.
Looking Ahead
With Unit 3 continuing to expand and the new reporting system approaching completion, the Maths Magician platform continues to evolve. Over the next few weeks more sections of Standard Form will appear, alongside further opportunities for students to build confidence across the GCSE curriculum.
And don’t forget – next week’s Level-Up bonus points could be the perfect chance to climb to your next level!
Keep up the brilliant work. 🧙✨
