Improving Weekly Reports with Maths Magician

At Maths Magician, I am always looking for ways to improve how student progress is tracked and communicated. I’m pleased to introduce an update to the weekly reporting system that will provide a clearer and more complete picture of each student’s learning.

📅 Reports Moving to Monday

Weekly reports will now be sent every Monday morning.

This change means each report will include:

  • Work completed during lessons

  • Homework and independent work completed over the weekend

This gives a much more accurate reflection of each student’s overall effort and progress.

🤖 A Smarter Reporting System

Reports are now generated using an automated system powered by AI.

All student data used in this process is fully anonymised, meaning no personal information is shared with the AI. The system has been designed and implemented following industry-standard practices, ensuring a high level of data security and reliability.

The aim is not to replace the personal touch, but to enhance consistency and detail, allowing every report to reflect the full range of a student’s work.

📊 What Each Report Includes

(Note: A-Level students will not have reports with all the detail as they do not access Maths Magician, this is to follow)

Each weekly report will contain the following sections:

Level-Up Score

This shows a student’s position on the leaderboard. Students earn points through:

  • Attending lessons

  • Completing independent work

  • Engaging with the Maths Magician platform

New students always begin at the bottom and progress upwards through consistent effort.

Tutor Summary

A summary of the lesson, based on notes taken during the session.

Lesson Time

Completed Quizzes:

These assess understanding of specific topics. A score of 80% or above indicates strong competency.

Learning and Activities:

Work completed on the Maths Magician platform during lesson time.

Independent Work

Completed Quizzes and Learning Activities:

The same types of tasks as above, completed outside of lesson time — often over the weekend.

🔄 Learning Plans Continue as Normal

Learning plans will still be updated throughout the week to guide students on what to focus on next.

Final Thoughts

This update is designed to give students and parents a clearer, more complete view of progress, while encouraging independent learning alongside lesson time.

As always, if you have any questions or feedback, I am happy to help.
