Meet your tutor

My name is Clare Knight. I qualified as a secondary maths teacher in 2012/2013 and was a classroom teacher for four years. I began tutoring in 2016. I also marked maths exams for Edexcel at both GCSE and A-Level for 4 years, which gave me an insight into what is required to gain marks in exams.

As for many people, 2020 and the pandemic brought a huge change to my working life. I went from working face-to-face with students in their own home to working online.

I have enjoyed the challenge of finding technologies that work and developing resources that engage students whilst teaching some quite complex concepts.

I started working on ‘Maths Magician’ towards the end of 2021 and launched it September 5th 2022. All too often I hear students or parents say ‘I can’t do Maths’. I believe everyone should be able to say ‘I Can Do Maths’. I also wanted to tutor students at a cost that is more affordable than private tuition and so ‘Maths Magician’ was born.

I know that everyone that joins me on their maths journey will be able to say ‘I Can Do Maths’

Aside from having a passion for maths, I play the piano (the guitar in the picture is my husbands) and I love to cook. We have a very daft cat called Mitzi.
